Seven-zone memory foam, 24 cm, medium firmness

The Cloudform is the mattress we would want in our own homes, so it is the one most of the workshop sleeps on. Seven zones of open-cell memory foam vary in density from head to thigh, keeping the spine level whether you sleep on your side or your back. The top layer is quilted into a knitted cover woven from eucalyptus-derived fibre — cool to the touch and removable for a 40 °C wash.

Who it suits: most sleepers under 110 kg who want pressure relief without sinking. Side sleepers with sore shoulders tend to write us thank-you notes.

Pocket springs with a gel-cooled foam layer, 26 cm, firm

For sleepers who run warm or want something that pushes back: a pocket-spring unit (1,240 springs in king size, each moving independently) topped with a gel-infused foam layer that draws heat away from the sleeper. The edge is reinforced with a foam encasement, so sitting on the side of the bed does not feel like stepping off a ledge.

Who it suits: back and stomach sleepers, heavier sleepers, and anyone who has given up on all-foam beds because they slept hot.

Light all-foam mattress, 18 cm, medium-soft

The Featherline exists because not every bed needs to be a flagship. One density of open-cell foam, a soft quilted cover, honest materials — the mattress we recommend for guest rooms, children's rooms and first flats. It is also the one we suggest for loft conversions with narrow stairs: at 18 cm it rolls tighter and carries lighter than its siblings.

Who it suits: children, occasional guests, and sleepers under 80 kg who prefer a softer surface.

Wingback Ergo Chair

Fully adjustable mesh-back task chair

One chair, every adjustment that matters, none that don't. The Wingback's back is a tensioned mesh that follows the curve of your spine; the lumbar pad moves up, down, forward and back; the arms adjust in four dimensions; and the seat pan slides 6 cm so the depth fits your legs rather than the fashion of the year. The aluminium base is rated for eight hours a day, five days a week, for at least a decade — and warranted for five.

Who it suits: anyone working from home who has started referring to their old chair in the past tense.
